Test and Examination

“Assessment is not just a test of memory, but a path to mastery.”

Introduction

At RPMAcademy, we believe that assessments are a vital part of the teaching-learning process. Our test and examination system is thoughtfully designed to evaluate not just academic performance, but also conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and application-based knowledge of our students.

Through regular and systematic assessments, we aim to monitor progress, identify learning gaps, and provide timely feedback to both students and parents. Our goal is to make evaluation a supportive and motivating experience for every learner.

Objectives of Our Assessment System

  • To evaluate academic progress and subject comprehension.
  • To develop a habit of regular study and time management.
  • To prepare students for higher academic challenges and board-level exams.
  • To identify individual strengths and areas of improvement.
  • To encourage a healthy competitive spirit in students.

Types of Assessments

Periodic Assessments (PA)

  • Conducted throughout the academic year.
  • Include class tests, quizzes, projects, oral assessments, presentations, and activities.
  • Aim to monitor continuous learning and provide constructive feedback.

Summative Assessments (SA)

  • Conducted at the end of each term or semester.
  • Include written exams based on the entire syllabus covered during that period.
  • Designed to evaluate overall academic achievement and retention.

Unit Tests / Periodic Tests

  • Scheduled at regular intervals.
  • Help in revision and preparation of lessons already taught.
  • Encourage consistency in study habits.

Practice Tests / Pre-Board Exams

  • Designed to replicate actual board examination conditions.
  • Help students gain confidence and manage exam-related stress.
  • Provide a detailed performance analysis before the final examination.

Practical Exams

  • Conducted in Science, Computer, and other practical subjects.
  • Emphasize hands-on learning and experimentation.

Examination Schedule

The academic year is divided into two terms:

  • Term I (April–September)
  • Term II (October–March)

Each term includes:

  • One Periodic Test
  • Formative Assessments (ongoing)
  • One Term-End Examination

The detailed examination calendar is shared with students and parents through the school almanac and online portal.

Grading and Evaluation System

  • We follow a fair, transparent, and student-friendly grading system as per the latest CBSE/State Board guidelines.
  • Both marks-based and grade-based evaluations are used, depending on the class and subject.
  • Emphasis is laid on concept clarity, neatness, presentation, and logical reasoning.

Support & Remediation

  • After every major test or exam, answer sheets are discussed in class.
  • Students needing extra help are provided remedial classes, peer mentoring, and one-on-one guidance.
  • Parents are kept in the loop through PTMs (Parent-Teacher Meetings) and digital progress reports.

Use of Technology

  • Tests and results are managed through the school's digital platform / ERP system.
  • Parents can access timetables, report cards, and performance analytics online.
  • For junior classes, interactive assessments are conducted using educational apps and tools.
